📌 What documents can be notarized in Orange County jails?

We can notarize Vehicle Release Forms, Powers of Attorney, Affidavits, Parental consent forms, and any other document as allowed by law.

📌 How much does the OC jail notary service cost?

Prices include travel and the first two signatures. Additional signatures are $15 each.
Non-Visiting Days: $200 (Tues-Thurs)
Visiting Days:$250 (Fri-Mon)
After hours: $250 (after 6pm)
Holidays: $300

📌 How long does the process take?

On average, it takes 30-45 minutes once inside the facility. However, it can be a longer time depending on how busy the jail is.

📌 What kind of identification is required?

State issued ID or driver license, or passport (US or Foreign) is required for notarization. Please provide original identifcation to us before we go into the facility. Copies are not acceptable. If you don't have original ID, the signer will need to submit an inmate property release form to release their property to you. If it's impossible or very difficult to obtain the inmate's ID, we may use the jail issued ID card. (Only for Orange County Jails). This exception does not apply to city jails and will require a valid government ID.

📌 How should I prepare for jail facility notary service?

Let the inmate know that a notary will be coming for an official visit, and the purpose of the visit.
Prepare and fill out documents as much as possible. (We are not attorneys and cannot provide advice or guidance on filling out documents)
If available, provide inmate State DL/ID or Passport (US or Foreign).
If you do not possess the inmate's ID, ask inmate to bring their OC Sheriff issued jail ID card to official visit.
For city jails, jail issued ID cannot not be used and a physical government ID is required, no exceptions.

Services are available at Theo Lacy Facility, Mens & Women's Central Jail, Intake Release Center, and James A Musick Facility.

📌 What are the visiting hours for OC jail notary services?

Regular visiting hours are Friday through Monday, 8 AM to 5 PM by appointment. However, as an official visitor, we can provide notary services any day from 9 AM to 8 PM.
